Task Force Members and Funders

SCtW MEMBERS
The Task Force was formed in March 2000 to direct, inform, and develop the work for Phase I, which was completed in October 2002 with the release of the Portfolio for District Redesign. Some of the nation's leading urban-education practitioners, advocates, researchers, and policy-makers developed the portfolio.

SCtW's CONSULTANT TEAM
Consultant teams were drawn largely, but not exclusively, from Task Force members to conduct the work in Phase II, which concluded in March 2004 with the first Emerging Knowledge Forum. Consultants' expertise was matched with the needs of Phase II districts and partners to help define and structure the appropriate levels of technical assistance according to site needs; help districts employ the tools developed in Phase I; provide feedback about their on-the-ground experiences to further assist in refining the tools and processes; and assist in developing learning communities within and across districts and networks.

FUNDERS
School Communities that Work received generous support from Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Rockefeller Foundation, Pew Charitable Trusts, and the Annenberg Foundation.
